Job Description
We have a client that loves to teach their clients, and
they will be happy to teach their new Project Accountant,
too. In this niche company you will start out as a
Project Accountant, but the right candidate will have
ample opportunity to take on new and expanded duties as
quickly as you can handle them. They are all about growth
and learning, and that extends to their employees as well
as their clientele.
The Project Account will use their knowledge of GAAP to
handle the following project accounting responsibilities:
Update project initiation forms, verify proper approvals
to maintain the project life cycle; Recognize project
revenue on a weekly and monthly basis; Prepare invoices
for projects, licenses and travel expenses; Review income
statements for discrepancies in revenue and cost of sales
entries; Reconcile deferred revenue and unbilled
receivables weekly; Reconcile WIP and WIP accrual accounts
monthly; Compile project revenue backlog weekly and
project revenue for next 3 months; Manage and update
monthly cost and revenue budgets in Oracle based on
project managers’ input and verify the 4 steps of the
revenue recognition per GAAP.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; 3+ years accounting
experience; knowledge of accounting principles; Ability to
clearly communicate accounting principles to non-
accounting professionals; strong Excel; Oracle experience
a plus. |
